Move Out 03:31
Oh Teesh and I’ve been living in one room flat above a pizza joint on the ‘T’ of Webb Street Titia she’s been stressing about her one-year lease because there’s no relief and she’s used up all her funds Oh Titia’s boyfriend’s chefing a super-yacht  but he snores a lot so he’s curled up like cat on the day-bed warming whiskers in the sun to move out will take a miracle to move out will take a miracle the tenancy tribunal is still ruling on our case to move out will take a miracle to move out will take a miracle the tenancy tribunal is ... O’ Teesh and I’ve been living in one room flat with just a trusty amp and the moon for hi hat Teesh and I’ve been trying to get the fridge replaced But the guy we chased, well, he moves at snail’s pace To move out will take a miracle To move out will take a miracle The tenancy tribunal is still ruling on our case To move out will take a miracle To move out will take a miracle The tenancy tribunal is … to move out, to move out, to move out, to move out, to move out, to move out, to move out, to move out,

I started fretting, started loosening the webbing On the tank and soon was heading to my new life O’ giant Octopus I slithered out that slimy tank, crawled past the car yards and the bank to start my new life as a man in humble Napier  O’ Giant Octopus O’ Giant Octopus O’ Giant Octopus I love you I met a girl down at the mall who said my tentacles enthralled in ways unrivalled since the school ball O’ darling Octopus We started illustrating men, I’d squeeze the ink, she’d work the pen Just goes to show you can do anything with the right octopus O’ Giant Octopus O’ Giant Octopus O’ Giant Octopus I love you  O’ Giant Octopus O’ Giant Octopus O’ Giant Octopus I love you And it’ll be you and me in Meeanee, it’ll be you and me in Meeanee And it’ll be you and me in Meeanee, it’ll be you and me in Meeanee And it’ll be you and me in Meeanee, it’ll be you and me in Meeanee And it’ll be you and me

about

Wellington chamber pop orchestra the Sven Olsens return with another sonic slice of life in Aotearoa/New Zealand.

The 12-strong collective has spent the past two years in virtual exile, holed up in a tiny apartment in Webb Street recording and mixing another 50 songs about what makes people in this country tick. This is a taster.

This band sings about stuff that others don’t, won’t or can’t. This time they’ve lent their swoonsome melodies to topics as varied as:
• the Fencing Act 1979
• Inky the escaping octopus
• mattresses roped to the roofs of cars
• boogie boarding dare devil Dr. Bubbles taking on Huka Falls,
• the closure of public swimming pools due to ‘Code Brown’ alerts,
• kung fu dancing on the roof of a chicken restaurants, and
• the overworked cellphones of perfing local policemen.

This Svens’ motto is ‘one last shot at obscurity’. This is your chance to prove them wrong.
